SPECIAL POPULATIONS
For generations, Pilates has been proven to be a successful form of exercise for clients with limitations, restrictions, or special needs. At Perfect Form, our instructors are dedicated to continuing their education to serve these populations.
Current cases include:
- back and neck pain
- neurological disorders
- cardiac rehabilitation
- Parkinson’s
- Pre and
post natal - post-surgery for mastectomy and knee replacement.
Due to the various apparatus, clients can be supported using the spring system or with the various props to ensure a complete exercise regime that incorporates the fundamentals of the Pilates Method – spinal flexion and extension, pelvic mobility and stability, scapular mobility and stability, and balanced muscle development.
“As a retired Occupational Therapist, I chose Pilates as the most effective approach in addressing my particular health challenges. Having had bilateral knee replacements and two rotator cuff surgeries, improving balance, strength and range of motion necessitated adapting my routine. Improving core strength is essential, especially at age 68, to achieve my goals. Heather Raglin, my instructor, has been instrumental in individualizing my routine. The professionalism and comfortable, uniting atmosphere has been an important component in selecting a studio to fit my needs.” ~ Susan P.
